The Education & Workforce Committee, chaired by Graham Fields, is dedicated to preparing a skilled workforce to meet the needs of Henderson County employers. The committee supports students transitioning from K-12 to the workforce, promotes professional development opportunities, and addresses barriers like childcare to expand the labor pool. Key initiatives include coordinating events like the New Teachers Event, NC Scholars Luncheon, and Junior Leadership Class, while fostering partnerships between schools, local employers, and higher education institutions. The committee also advocates for workforce training, apprenticeships, and programs that connect job seekers with employers. By addressing current and future workforce needs, this group plays a critical role in building a thriving local economy.
